A video is going viral on social media platforms. In this video, PM Narendra Modi can be seen reciting the slogan of ‘Vote for India’ while addressing a massive crowd.

Social media users are fiercely sharing this video and claiming that Modi is endorsing the INDIA Alliance this time.

A journalist named Rohit Tripathi posted a video on Twitter(X) and wrote: “Vote for India. Vote for India. Modi ji is saying to vote for India”

Sharing this video on Twitter(X), another user named Circuit says: “Modi Ji is saying to vote for India, lest the party gets angry with Modi Ji”

Fact-Check

To verify the claims made through the above viral video, the DFRAC team converted the viral video into Keyframes and reverse-searched it on Google. Meanwhile, the team found this video on Aajtak’s official YouTube Channel with the title: “‘Vote for India’ is the slogan for 2014 elections: Modi” where it was mentioned that ‘Addressing the Maha Garjana rally in Mumbai, BJP leader Narendra Modi urges the people of India to vote for the nation and not for any party’.

Not only this, but the video was also discovered on another YouTube channel named News X along with the caption: “Vote for India’, Narendra Modi scripts slogan for 2014 polls at Mumbai rally”

Moreover, both videos were posted about nine years ago during the elections of 2014 where PM could be seen urging the People to ‘Vote for India’ i. e to vote for our country rather than vote for any party. In fact, the INDIA Alliance was formed in July 2023 with the objective of taking down the (National Democratic Alliance) NDA led by the BJP.

Conclusion

It is clear from DFRAC’s Fact-Check that the viral video showing Modi endorsing the INDIA Alliance is misleading as the viral video is associated with the elections of 2014 when BJP secured a stunning victory in the Lok Sabha Polls of 2014.

The image was featured in a viral social media post by a Pakistani defense account, falsely claiming that the aircraft had successfully shot down an Indian Rafale jet during an aerial encounter over the Line of Control (LoC).
