A video is circulating on social media platform X (earlier twitter) where users are sharing the video with a claim that Chandrayaan-3 has released the video from the moon.
President of Mumbai Minority Morcha Member Of CWC, Wasim R Khan shared the video and wrote the caption,” Here is a beautiful picture sent by Chandrayaan-3 mission from the moon!”
Many other social media users were found to share the video with the same caption.
Fact check
To check the veracity of the video, our team investigated the viral video by putting it in some keyframes. We found the actual video which was shared by ISRO on August 6 and uploaded by ANI on their YouTube channel with the caption,” ISRO shares first images of the moon captured by Chandrayaan-3”
Furthermore, We found other media houses which covered the news about the video on 10 August 2023.
Chandrayaan-3 is a follow-on mission to Chandrayaan-2 to demonstrate end-to-end capability in safe landing and roving on the lunar surface. ISRO ,on August 20,has said that the Lander Module is in 25 km x 134 km orbit. Powered descent is expected to commence on August 23, 2023, around 1745 Hrs. IST.
Conclusion
Based on the fact-check, it is evident that the viral video is not from Chandrayaan-3. The actual video, shared by ISRO, is completely different from the one shared by the users. Henceforth, the viral claim is fake.
