Users are sharing news on social media claiming that Shibu Ali, a man accused of murder in Bihar’s Chhapra district, wanted to marry his own 14-year-old sister. On refusing, he killed his sister.
Arun Yadav, former in-charge of Haryana’s IT cell posted a screenshot of news by OpIndia on Twitter with the caption: “Abdul is not leaving his real sister didn’t think Abdul would fall so much”.

Not only this, but Arun Yadav had also tweeted against Prophet-e-Islam ﷺ in 2017 on which
BJP took action and expelled him from the party last year.

Fact-Check:
To know the reality of this viral claim, the Dfrac’s team searched some keywords on Google in this context. We found some media reports during this process.
Website Hindustan published news on 10 July 2023 with the headline: “FIR filed against four people over the murder of teenage girl. Nowhere in this news, Hindustan mentioned that the accused, Shibu Ali is the brother of that girl. According to the news, an FIR was registered on the statement of the girl’s mother, Jameri Khatoon, that Shibu Ali, son of neighbor Ghiyasuddin, used to pressurize my daughter Muskan to marry. My daughter used to oppose it, on which he also threatened to kill her.
It was clearly mentioned in the FIR that when the mother returned home on Sunday evening, she found that neighbor Mohd. Saw Nizamuddin, Ghiyasuddin, and Abida Khatoon coming out from her house. When she asked the reason for their visit, they left. She entered the room with the locals and found her daughter lying dead.
On the other hand, the Dfrac team didn’t find such thing mentioned in the FIR Copy.
The DFRAC contacted the mother of the deceased girl. We questioned her about Shibu Ali: “ Is he Muskan’s Brother? She told us that Shibu Ali is an uncle’s son from distant relations. He is our neighbor and we have no direct relation.
Conclusion:
It is clear from Dfrac’s Fact-Check that the accused Shibu Ali is not the brother of the deceased girl.
According to the mother of the deceased, she has no family relation with Shibu Ali. Therefore, the claim of all the people, including Arun Yadav and oplindia is misleading.
