As, now the karnataka elections are going to held in a few days, main stream media and social media is filled with the election news. Meanwhile, a video is getting viral on social media where a group of NRIs are campaigning against the Bharatiya Janata Party.
Many congress leaders are sharing this video while criticizing BJP. A Verified user by the name of Vijay Thottathill, who claims himself as an INC solider shared this video and writes, “Across the world everyone says No Vote to BJP.”
Deepak Khatri who is a national coordinator INC social media and digital platforms also shared this video.
Many other users too shared this video making similar claims.
Fact Check:
To investigate this video’s reality DFRAC team looked closely to the playcard and found the language written on it as Bangla and not Kanada, which hinted the video can possibly of Bengal elections.
To investigate further the team reverse searched the video and landed on the video posted on a twitter page by the name “No Vote To BJP”
The video was uploaded in the year 2021. We then found many report from media sites like Times of India, The Hindu on the keyword search of “No Vote To BJP”
The reports says that “No Vote To BJP”, a silent campaign before and during the West Bengal polls, helped the Trinamool Congress in a big way to win the elections.
Conclusion:
The video being shared is not from the recent Karnataka elections, but from the Bengal elections in the year 2021. hence, the claim by congress leaders and supporters is misleading.
