To know the reality of the viral image, the DFRAC team first reverse-searched the picture with the help of the InVID tool. During this time we found the original picture on the photography website Alamy. This picture was posted on June 14, 2016.
The picture was captioned by Russian President Vladimir Putin reviewing a book during a meeting with Vladimir Fortov, president of the Russian Academy of Sciences at the Kremlin in Moscow, Russia, on June 14, 2016, and Mikhail Kotyukov, director of the Federal Agency for Scientific Organizations.
We conducted further investigations and found a similar image on the Kremlin, the official website of the Russian President’s Office. “Meeting with Vladimir Fortov, President of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS), and Mikhail Kotukov, Director of the Federal Agency for Scientific Organizations (FASO).”
Therefore, the Fact Check of DFRAC makes it clear that the viral picture is fake. Because the picture has been edited. The original picture does not have Imran Khan’s picture on both cover pages of the books.
