A new variant of Corona BF7 has been revealed in many countries of the world including China. In such a situation, India also started taking precautions due to the fear of a fourth wave. Genome sequencing of all samples is being done to investigate new cases.
Meanwhile, a Pakistani user Fatima Zahra shared a poster on Twitter. “Covid-19 has led to a challenging situation in Jammu and Kashmir. The number of new cases in the state is 2000, the number of active cases is 13,400 and the growth rate of cases is 8.12%.

“India does not even allow international human rights organizations like Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch to visit occupied Kashmir and observe the situation there. #KashmiriLivesMatter”
Fact Check:
To know the reality of the Pakistani user’s claim, the DFRAC team collected data on new cases of Covid-19 in Jammu and Kashmir. During this time, we came across a report published on December 27 by The Leading Newspaper of Jammu and Kashmir, Daly Excelsior. It was reported that 5 new cases of Kovid-19 were reported in the state today. These include two cases in the Jammu division and three in Kashmir Valley.

The report also said that with the arrival of these three new cases, the number of active cases in the Union Territory has increased to 18, which was earlier 15.

Apart from this, we also confirmed these figures from the website of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. There too, the total number of active cases was reported to be 18.
Conclusion:
Therefore, it is clear from the fact check of DFRAC that the Pakistani user’s claim of 2000 new cases of Kovid-19 in Jammu and Kashmir, 13400 active cases, and a growth rate of 8.12% is completely fake.
