Did Lalu Prasad Yadav’s kidney donated by his servant and not by his daughter? Read- Fact Check

Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav has undergone a successful kidney transplant in Singapore. Lalu Prasad Yadav’s daughter Rohini Acharya donated a kidney to him. At the same time, it is being claimed on social media that Lalu Prasad Yadav’s servant has donated a kidney to Lalu Prasad Yadav, but the name is being changed to daughter Rohini. 

A user named Poonam Kesari wrote- “Lalu’s “servant” gave a “kidney”, the name is being given to “daughter”, it is called “politics”, the daughter will now contest the election.” The post has been liked more than 5600 times and retweeted more than 1300 times. According to Poonam Kesari’s bio, she is a Modi supporter and has more than 1,55,000 followers on Twitter.

The same claim was done by Baba Bavandar Nath and caption: “ Lalu’s servant gave the kidney, it is being called daughter’s name, this is called politics, now the daughter will contest elections.” (English Translation)

Apart from this, many other social media users are also sharing posts in this context. Some users are also raising questions that when Rohini Acharya has donated a kidney, then how is she clicking the picture by showing the victory sign after the operation?

Fact Check:

The DFRAC team first examined the selfie with a victory sign of Lalu Prasad Yadav’s daughter Rohini Acharya. We found a tweet from Rohini Acharya in this regard. Rohini Acharya posted this tweet on December 5, 2022, at 5.53 am. Rohini Acharya has posted two pictures in this post. In one photo, she is seen with her father Lalu Prasad Yadav. She captioned- “Ready to rock and roll. Wish me a good luck”

This picture is from before the operation. After this, Rohini’s elder sister Dr. Misa Bharti posted a picture of Rohini’s ICU at 12.02 pm on December 5, 2022. She captioned- “Younger sister Rohini’s donor operation has been successfully done. She is completely healthy right now in the ICU. My father is currently undergoing an operation. ” (English Translation)

At 1.33 pm, an hour and a half after this post, Misa Bharti posted a video, in which Lalu Prasad Yadav is seen being taken away by a team of doctors after the operation. Misa Bharat posted the video and wrote- “Papa’s operation has been successfully done, Papa is in ICU right now, conscious and able to talk! Thank you all for your good wishes!” (English Translation).

At the same time, many media houses have published reports regarding Rohini Acharya’s kidney donation. During this time, journalists, social workers, and leaders are being praised for donating Rohini Acharya’s kidney. 

On December 6, Lalu’s son and Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav also visited the hospital in Singapore to see his father and sister. He posted a picture of sister Rohini admitted to the ICU and captioned- “ My dear sister’s confidence after the operation is supernatural, unique, and wonderful.

The unique example of unbreakable love, infinite sacrifice, indomitable courage, unique dedication, and unimaginable family values in the current era of seething relationships, set by my dear sister Rohini Acharya is indescribable and unforgettable.” (English Translation).

Fact Check:

It is clear from the fact check of DFRAC that Lalu Prasad Yadav’s daughter Rohini Acharya has donated the kidney to his father Lalu Prasad Yadav. At the same time, the selfie that social media users are targeting Rohini is from before the operation. Therefore, the claim being made by social media is wrong.
