A video is getting viral on social media sites from a large communal angle. In which some youths can be seen beating a young man mercilessly.

Source: Twitter

Posting the video on Twitter, a user named Kaur Singh Preet captioned: “ This case is said to be of Lakhimpur Kheri. A Sikh youth is being badly beaten up. Farmers were run over by the minister’s son”

Fact Check:

To analyze the claim made with the viral video, the DFRAC team first converted the video into a keyframe with the help of the InVID tool in google. After that, when we did a reverse search image of the keyframe, we found a similar video on Twitter with different captions. In which the incident was told of Bhabua. Also, the victim’s youth was described as a Muslim.

In further analysis, we searched some keywords on Google and found reports from Dainik Jagran and India Today. In which the screen graph of the viral video was used.

A man was allegedly shot at by the ward councilor’s son at Bhabua in Bihar’s Kaimur district, the report said. The accused ward councilor’s son was brutally beaten up by a mob of locals in broad daylight in front of the police. The incident took place in Bhabua’s Shivaji Chowk area.

Apart from this, we also found a tweet from UP Police. It was said that this video is not related to Uttar Pradesh but to the incident of the year 2019 in Police Station Bhabua, District Kaimur, Bihar. @kheripolice has been directed to take necessary legal action in the context of spreading misinformation.

Conclusion:

Therefore, it is clear from the fact check of DFRAC that the viral video is misleading. Because this incident is not from Lakhimpur Kheri in UP but from Bhabhua Nagar in Bihar.

The image was featured in a viral social media post by a Pakistani defense account, falsely claiming that the aircraft had successfully shot down an Indian Rafale jet during an aerial encounter over the Line of Control (LoC).
