Fact Check: Is the Cartoon network shutting down after 30 years?

Many social media users took to Twitter on Friday with concerns that the cartoon network channel is shutting down. Cartoon Network (often abbreviated as CN) is an American cable television channel owned by Warner Bros. Discovery and is having a wide craze among children due to its cartoon shows for 30 years.

People all over the internet are posting this news with shock and despair as Cartoon Network was founded on October 1, 1992, and is one of the oldest cartoon channels to exist. 

Rap tv is an official page on Twitter with a following of more than 800k writes, “Cartoon Network Studios is being shut down after 30 years and will be merged with Warner Bros.”

Fact Check:

To investigate the viral claim DFRAC team firstly scrolled the official Twitter account of CN Networks and found a tweet where the company is denying any such claim.

It writes, “Y’all we’re not dead, we’re just turning 30

To our fans: We’re not going anywhere. We have been and will always be your home for beloved, innovative cartoons More to come soon!

After the clarification provided by the CN Network by their own many media sites like The Indian Express, BUSINESS INSIDER  too ran the news of the cartoon network not shutting down.

With CN network coming forth and denying the claim it is clear that Cartoon Network is not shutting down and the viral claim is fake.
