Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra is at its peak so is the news of it on various media and social media sites. Similarly, a post is getting viral on various sites in it there are some pictures shared of a large crowd. Netizens are claiming it to be of a crowd that was presented at a meeting of Rahul Gandhi.

A verified user Ritu Chaudhary, who is a National Coordinator of INC writes, “ #RahulGandhi is Creating History Tsunami of Crowd in #Karnataka.”

The archive link is provided here.

Jitendra patwari, MLA Indore, and another verified user write, “huge gathering has immerged as entire India is walking.”

Sharing the same picture a user on Twitter writes, “All the broken records, the largest crowd of independent India gathered in the meeting of Rahul Gandhi. Now till when the picture of this crowd will not come on the channels. That is to be seen.”

टूटे सारे रिकार्ड ….राहुल गाँधी की सभा में जमा हुई आजाद भारत की सबसे बड़ी भीड़..

अब इस भीड़ की तस्वीर चैनलों पर कब तक नहीं आयेगी.. यही देखना है.. pic.twitter.com/YkbwsNipx2

Fact Check:

To investigate the viral claim DFRAC team reverse-searched the image and found the images to be of kano where according to the report of Greenbarge Reporters, a news site, an unprecedented crowd, ushered the Presidential candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC), General Muhammadu Buhari into Kano, capital of Kano state, renting the air with chants: “sai Buhari, Baba Oyoyo.”

Similar picture with similar report about kano was uploaded kanooline.com in the year 2015.

Conclusion:

Out of the two pictures being widely shared first picture is not from India but from Kano, so it cannot be of Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra.

Claim Review: the huge crowd at Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra meeting.

Claimed by: Ritu Kumar, Jitendra Patwari, and other social media users.
