Is the RBI Governer talking about Digital Wallet Fraud- Read Fact Check

A video of Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor Shaktikanta Das is going viral on social media sites, in which he can be heard about measures to block wallet accounts in case of phone theft and digital wallet fraud.  in the viral video, he was also heard sharing some helpline nos for Google pay, phone pay, and Paytm.

A user on Twitter shared the video under the caption, “#DigitalPayment #phonepe #GPay #Paytm #security #RBI.”

Fact Check:

To investigate the viral claim DFRAC looked closely at the video and found that the lips were not syncing with the background voice then the team found a logo of RBI behind Governor Shaktikanta Das. We then searched the different frames of the video and found the original video uploaded on RBI’s YouTube channel dated 5th May 2021 i.e a year old.

Conclusion:

The video getting viral is not in the voice of Governor Shaktikanta Das and the video is digitally created.
