A video is getting viral on social media sites. The users who shared this video are claiming that the Gujarat goons vandalized the effigy of former Prime minister Indira Gandhi.

A tweet came from the verified account of the MLA-North Nagpur, Congress member Dr. Nitin Raut with the caption- “ You can destroy Indira Gandhi statue, not her thoughts . The picture has come from PM Narendra Modi,s Gujarat.” ( English Translation)

Another user named Khalid shared the image with the caption- “ In Gujarat’s Kajra village, a young man first challenged on social media, then broke the statue of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in the park of the village itself.” (English Translation)

Fact check:

To analyze the reality of the picture the DFRAC team did a reverse image search. The team found that NHP news and Hindustan news hub etc have covered this news and it is clearly mentioned in the news that this broken effigy of Indira Gandhi is not from Gujarat but from Rajasthan. The statue is situated in Kajra village, in Jhunjhunu in the state of Rajasthan.
