A message is vividly becoming viral on social media in which it is claimed that because industrialist Gautam Adani has become the richest person in Asia, on this happy occasion, 3 months of free mobile recharge will be provided to all Indian users for free.

Along with this, a link has been given in the message, by clicking on which it has been asked to get the recharge and the last date has been given as 15 September.

The WhatsApp forward is in Hindi. A Facebook user shared the forwarded message’s screenshot and wrote, “Take advantage of the offer.”

Fact Check:

To investigate our team clicked on the link and found the instructions to avail the free recharge in the first step the option to fill in the mobile number. After this, in the second step, 5 to 10 people were asked to share this link on WhatsApp. There was nothing beyond that.

This was similar to many shopping coupons which affirm to provide some gift vouchers but end up being fake.

To confirm our investigation the team then searched for any such news in the mainstream media , but found no news reports on this.

Conclusion:

The whatsaap forward claiming on providing free recharge is fake
