A video of Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann is going viral on social media platforms. In the video, he can be heard saying that he promises things even if he can’t do them. Along with the video, Arun Yadav wrote, “I can also say what I cannot do, Drink a little less.” {English Translation}

जो नहीं कर सकते, वो भी कह देते है 😂

थोड़ी कम पिया करो 😉 pic.twitter.com/q22XHHc3k6

Similarly, many other users have shared this claim.

😍 pic.twitter.com/CWHvaCdgBZ

Fact Check

Applying reverse image search on the different keyframes of the video we found a 1:06:42 minute long video on the Youtube Channel of Aam Admi Party. The video was uploaded on September 7, 2022, with the title “LIVE | TOWNHALL of Shri Arvind Kejriwal and Shri Bhagwant Mann Ji with the youth of Haryana.”

At 18:19 minutes of the above video, Bhagwant Mann can be heard saying, “we say what we do, and what we cannot do, we say that too, that this cannot be done by us.”

Conclusion

From this DFRAC factcheck, it is clear that the viral video of Punjab CM is cropped. Hence, the claim of social media users is misleading.

Claim: Bhagwant Mann promises things even if he can’t do them.
Claimed by: Arun Yadav and other social media users.
