The enthusiasm for the Gujarat assembly elections is intensifying. All the political parties have started their preparations in full swing. Aam Aadmi Party is also busy in preparations for the elections. At the same time, a post on social media about Aam Aadmi Party is becoming increasingly viral. Users sharing this post are claiming that Aam Aadmi Party has declared social worker Medha Patkar as its CM candidate in Gujarat.
BJP leader Kapil Mishra posted- “Medha Patkar will be AAP’s Gujarat CM candidate. Yes, the one who stopped the water, conspired against the dam, defamed Gujarat, Medha Patkar, who runs a shop in the name of the movement. Kejriwal ji, do you want to contest elections or just have a plan to defame Gujarat?
A verified user named Ankit Jain wrote- “I have confirmed report that Medha patkar is CM candidate of Aam Aadmi party for Gujarat. She has also asked her team to prepare report on how to curtain Sardar Sarovar dam project”
At the same time, many other users are claiming that after declaring Medha Patkar as the CM candidate, 13 candidates of the Aam Aadmi Party’s declared assembly candidates have refused to contest the elections.
Many other users have also shared the post regarding Medha Patkar being made the Aam Aadmi Party’s CM candidate.

To verify the veracity of the viral claim, we did a few keyword searches on Google. We found a report from firstpost.com. In which BJP MLA Suresh Nakhua has been quoted as saying that Medha Patkar can be the CM candidate of Aam Aadmi Party.
Apart from this, we did some keywords search in Hindi and English about Medha Patkar. But we could not find any news published by any other media house. After this, we checked the official social media account of the Aam Aadmi Party. Here too, no post was seen regarding making Medha Patkar the CM candidate. We too searched about Medha Patkar. Medha Patkar had contested the 2014 Mumbai North-East Lok Sabha seat on an Aam Aadmi Party ticket. After this, she resigned from the Aam Aadmi Party in 2015.

We got in touch with the leaders of Aam Aadmi Party Delhi to get more information in this regard. AAP leaders denied having any information in this regard. He said that only the party high command can take a decision in this regard.
Conclusion:
It is clear from our fact check that Aam Aadmi Party has not declared Medha Patkar as CM candidate yet. Hence the claim being made by social media users is misleading.
