On January 6th, former US President Donald Trump was banned from several social media sites by permanently banning his official Twitter account @realdonaldTrump, and Meta suspending his Facebook and Instagram accounts for two years till January 7, 2023, in order to block the former US president from posting new content from his accounts.
Related to this, a news of trump’s social media account being reinstated is getting viral on social media accounts through repudiated media houses reports.
Posting a picture of Trump on it’s official page Mirror Times Twitted, “Former U.S President #DonaldTrump, who was banned from #Facebook & #Instagram in 2021 for 2 years, has made a comeback. His Facebook & Instagram accounts have been reinstated. The move was expected in January 2023.”
A news site called free press journal too ran a headline with the same claim it states, “Former US president Donald Trump’s Facebook, Instagram accounts reinstated.

Fact Check:
To investigate the claim by Indian Media Houses DFRAC desk did a simple search on Google and found no international media report on it.
The team further investigate and found a report of Meta dated June 4 2021. According to it’s report the account will be reinstated only if the conditions become better.
Furthermore, no recent statement was provided by any of the social media houses about the reinstatement ON Trump’s accounts.

The news reports by various media houses is misleading.
