Fact check: The video of students asking for votes by falling at their feet is not from Rajasthan University.

Several videos of student union elections in Rajasthan are going viral on social media. In the student union elections, many candidates were seen falling at the feet of the voters and holding their feet. By making these videos viral, social media users are pulling the legs of student leaders a lot. At the same time, there are many such videos, which are from another city or university, which are getting viral as being from another city or university.

One such video is going viral, which is getting viral by name of Rajasthan University. A user named Munmum Sahni(@MunmunSahani)wrote-“During the Rajasthan University Students Union election. The candidates asked for votes by lying on the road holding their feet.”

FACTCHECK:

To fact-check the viral video, DFRAC first did a reverse image search of some of the frames of the video. The team found a video by News18 virals. In this video, it has been described as Bharatpur of Rajasthan. It has been told in this report that in  Maharani Shri Jaya College, Bharatpur, the student union candidates sought votes by falling at the feet of the students.

Meanwhile,Navbharat times has also uploaded this video on its official Youtube channel. He has also told the video of Bharatpur.

Conclusion:

After the fact check of the viral video, it has become clear that the video is not of Rajasthan University located in Jaipur but of Maharani Shri Jaya College, Bharatpur. Hence the claim being made by social media users is misleading.
