Speaking directly to Mahatma Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi said- ‘You are wrong and I am right?’ Read- fact check

A video of former Congress President Rahul Gandhi is getting viral on social media. Users who shared this video are claiming that Rahul Gandhi has said about talking to Mahatma Gandhi. In this video, Rahul Gandhi can also be seen saying that my logic on this matter says that Gandhiji is wrong and I am right.

A social media user shared this video and write “ this guy spoke directly with Gandhi Ji! #if you can understand this, #explain me too.”

Meanwhile, another user wrote, “ this guy spoke directly with Gandi Ji! and these Congressmen want to see it as prime minister?????”

Apart from this, many other users have also shared this video with a similar caption.

Fact check:

To fact-check the viral video, DFRAC did a reverse image search of some frames of the video. We found a video uploaded on 26 February 2022 on the official YouTube channel of the Indian National Congress. The video has been titled – “Shri Rahul Gandhi address at the Chintan Shivir in Dwarka, Gujarat”.

Rahul Gandhi’s viral part can be heard at 2 minutes 56 seconds of this video. “My great grandfather (Jawaharlal Nehru) also used to work with Gandhiji. I read one of his letters, which he had written to someone about Gandhiji. In the letter, Nehru Ji wrote that I have had a conversation with Gandhiji on this matter. And my whole opinion, my whole logic is saying that Gandhiji is speaking wrong on this matter and I am speaking the truth.  My opinion says that I am right and he is wrong, but I also know that he (Gandhiji) is right and I (Nehru) am wrong on this matter.”

Conclusion:

It is clear from the analysis of this video that Rahul Gandhi is referring to the conversation between Mahatma Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru in his speech. By editing half of the videos, social media users are making them viral in the wrong context. Therefore, the claim made by social media users is fake.
