Numerous claims are made on social media mentioning the date of August 5. Users are claiming that the decision of triple talaq came on August 5.
A user named Dilip Singh Rao tweeted, “The history of August 5 is very interesting, 5 August 2018 – Article 370 ended, 5 August 2019 – Triple Talaq Bill, 5 August 2020 – Shri Ram Mandir Bhoomi Pujan, 5 August 2022 – ??????”
A user named Sangita Parmar wrote, “Respected tomorrow is August 5. Look at the history of this day… 5 August 2018 – Article 370 abolished, 5 August 2019 – Triple Talaq Bill, 5 August 2020 – Shri Ram Mandir Bhoomi Pujan, 5 August 2022 – ??????

To analyze the viral claim, we did a simple search on Google with the help of some special keywords. In this regard, we found many reports published by media houses.
NDTV has published a report on 22 August 2019 under the title, “Supreme Court’s historic judgelment, triple talaq declared illegal”. It has been told in the report that the Constitution Bench of the Supreme Court, in the majority decision, struck down the practice of triple talaq in Muslim society at once and made it unconstitutional in its system,declared illegal and nullified. “In view of different opinions the constitution bench said in a 365-page Judgement , recorded by a majority of 3:2, ‘talaq-e-biddat’ triple talaq is set aside.
Navbhart times has also published a report on August 22 under the headline, “Supreme Court’s decision on triple talaq, 3 out of 5 judges said unconstitutional”.
Revealing that the ordinance was first brought to ban triple talaq. When this bill was introduced in Parliament, the opposition demanded to send it to the Select Committee and the bill could not be passed, but on June 21, 2019, the bill was passed by 186 votes against 74 among the opposition.
