Fact Check: The picture of fountain getting viral on social media is not of Gyanvapi Masjid.

Ananaya Sharma May 19, 2022
Gyanvapi WazuKhana - Shivlinga

There is an ongoing debate among social media users regarding Shiv Linga and fountain in Gyanvapi Masjid. Many users are sharing photos and claiming to have Shiv Linga in the Wazukhana of the mosque, while many people are sharing photos and claiming to have a fountain in the Waju Khana, not a Shiva Linga. Many users are also using fake and misleading photos to prove their claims to be true.

One such misleading photo is going viral on social media, which is being claimed by users to be the fountain of Gyanvapi Masjid. One user wrote – “This is the place where Wudu is held, the fountain in the middle of it, people are calling it Shiva Linga and spreading rumours, Godi media and blind devotees.”

At the same time, another user also posted – “This is the place where Wuzu is the fountain in the middle of it, people are calling it Shiva Linga and spreading rumours.”

A user wrote on Twitter – “If this is a Shiva Linga, then almost every fourth mosque in India will find this Shiva Linga. There is no shame left, leaving our temple and looking for God in our mosques. Go find employment.”
