Fact Check: Did People Themselves Came Out To Guard The EVM In UP?

A video of a mob is going viral on the Social Media Platform. Sharing the video social media users are claiming that, the villagers themselves came to guard the EVM in the ongoing elections in UP.

Sharing the video, Hansraj Meena said, “The people themselves have come on the road to teach a lesson to the dictatorship.” Though he later deleted his tweet we have the archived version of the tweet as proof.

In the same vein, many users have posted this video on their social media handles.

Fact Check

After doing the keyword research, our team found the viral video on Facebook. The video was uploaded on July 9, 2021, with the caption, “This video is from Dubulia block of Basti district, where Talewan Yadav was the candidate from Samajwadi Party.”

Hence, from the above video, it is clear that this has nothing to do with the ongoing UP Elections 2022.

Further, we also found a tweet of Rajesh Yadav dated July 9, 2021.
