The third phase of voting in UP Elections took place on 20th February. Polling was held in 16 districts of UP. Ajay Kumar Shukla, Chief Electoral Officer also mentioned that no case of violence was registered in the third phase of polling at the end of the day. A viral statement of Samajwadi Party’s Leader Akhilesh Yadav got viral on social media.
In the video, he claimed that if someone does not want to follow law and orders or torture the poor class they can vote for Samajwadi Party. It also carried a slogan at the end of the video that roughly translates, hands of rioters and support with criminals. The viral video has created an ignite among the users.
Fact check
After watching the video, we knew that somewhere the video is edited and through research we got an article of Zee News of 12th February 2022 which covered Akhilesh Yadav’s statement during election campaigns in Bareilly. Akhilesh Yadav mentioned that lawbreakers should not vote SP but the user edited the entire video and posted it on the internet to spread fake news.
Conclusion: Therefore, the entire video is edited and no such statements were made by Akhilesh Yadav on UP elections 2022.
