Fact Check:

The DFRAC team found during its investigation that the viral claim is misleading. There is no “love jihad” angle in this incident, and the deceased youth’s name was Roshan Singh, who was Hindu, not Muslim. We found several media reports published on November 6, 2025, regarding the incident, including reports by ABN, Punjab Kesari, and The News Minute, in which the deceased is identified as Roshan Singh (25).

According to these reports, in Telangana’s Jagadgirigutta, a history-sheeter named Roshan Singh was attacked openly with knives by another history-sheeter, Baleshwar Reddy, along with his associates. Roshan Singh later died during treatment at Gandhi Hospital in Secunderabad. Several media reports cited a financial transaction dispute as the reason behind the incident.

For further investigation, our team contacted Inspector B. Venkatesham of the Jagadgirigutta police station. He dismissed the claims of “love jihad” or the murder of a Muslim youth for loving a Hindu girl as fake. He stated that both the deceased, Roshan Singh, and the accused, Baleshwar Reddy, belonged to the Hindu community. He also clarified that multiple cases were registered against both individuals and that the murder was triggered by a financial dispute and an ego clash.

Conclusion:

DFRAC’s fact-check makes it clear that there is no angle of “love jihad” or the murder of a Muslim youth over a relationship with a Hindu girl in this incident. The deceased was Roshan Singh, who was Hindu. Therefore, the claims being shared by users are misleading.
