A video of firecrackers burning in water has gone viral on social media. While sharing the video users claim that “Brand Bengaluru hot water is lucky. What’s wrong with us, government without money.”

Fact-check

During the investigation, DFRAC found that the claim was false. We found multiple media reports regarding this video. According to ‘Vietnamplus’ report published on 16 Oct, 2024 “Shocking scene of broken power line falling onto flooded street in Can Tho city, Vietnam.”

Furthermore, we also found a report from ‘Afamily’ published on 16 Oct, 2024 stating “After heavy rain and lightning storm, a section of power line in Can Tho city, Vietnam accidentally broke and fell onto the road, causing sparks to fly everywhere. The incident not only caused a power outage in the area but also affected traffic on this road.

It is evident from the DFRAC’s fact check that the viral video is from Vietnam, not from Bengaluru. Therefore, the claim of social media users is misleading
