On social media, a video showing a building engulfed by fire has been shared by users with the claim that “Hindus in Bangladesh are being subjected to genocide by Muslims and Hindu temples are being burned. All eyes are on the Hindus of Bangladesh”.
Fact Check
On investigation, DFRAC found that the claim was False. The building engulfed by fire is a Restaurant, not a Hindu Temple. We found a multiple video on YouTube uploaded on 28 December 2023 titled “A palace worth Rs. 100 crores has been built in Satkhira district, Kalaroa, Bangladesh. These are the palace Owner, Kazi Shahzada Bhai. This Raj Palace restaurant is as beautiful from the outside as the inside. much more beautiful”. (English Translation)
Conclusion
It is evident from the DFRAC’s fact check that the building engulfed by fire is a Restaurant, not a Hindu Temple. Therefore, the claim of social media users is misleading.
