On Investigation, DFRAC found a clip from Meerut police stating “The car was traveling from the wrong side, and the vehicle collided with the Kanwariya, damaging their Kanwar. In response, the angry youth vandalized the car. The police arrived and spoke to both parties, and neither side wished to press any charges.
Conclusion
It is evident from the DFRAC’s fact check that there is no religious angle here. This was a road-rage incident in response to a car driving dangerously. Meerut Police have clarified that it was probed and settled — neither side wanted to press charges. Therefore, the claim of social media users is misleading.
