There have been recent clashes in the Los Angeles UCLA where police clashed with Pro-Palestinian protesters in the campus. Amidst the news, 3 disturbing images are being shared and claimed that they are of a recent pro-Palestinian UCLA clash between protesters and the police.
Multiple others were also found to share the same group of images and claimed to be of UCLA protests.
Fact Check
We investigated the images shared by the users. On investigation, we found that 2 out of 3 images were not from the recent protest.
The first image which shows a girl injured on her face was was taken by Paul Sakuma of the Associated Press in 2003 Oakland protest against Iraq War at the port of Oakland.
The second image where rubber bullets can be seen in the hands was found on Alamy. The website further mentioned that the image was clicked by Liam McBurney on 9 August 2021.
Conclusion
Thus from the fact check it is clear that 2 out of 3 images shared are not from the recent UCLA protest. One was found from the year 2003 and the other from 2021.
