News has taken the Internet by storm claiming that Bollywood Actress Yami Gautam’s recent Political thriller ‘Article 370’ has been banned in Gulf Countries.

Sharing an Image carrying text( Article 370 banned in Gulf Countries) on X(Twitter), a user named Waheed Khan wrote: “India uses propaganda movies to promote its narrative by depicting its actions..such as the abrogation of Article 370 and Pulwama Attack, as justified and necessary for national security.

The DFRAC fact-checked the above viral news. The team found some media reports during this process.

A media report from ANI dated Feb 27, 2024, cited that the Bollywood film ‘Article 370’ does not face any ban in Gulf countries, sources have said. Sources further added that in certain Gulf countries, the film awaits certification. Earlier, a release from the public relations team of the film had claimed that the movie was banned in Gulf countries.

The newspaper website Times of India published a media report on Feb 28, 2024. In this report, TOI stated: “Following reports of the Bollywood film ‘Article 370’ getting banned in Gulf countries emerged online, new reports have clarified that the movie is facing no such hurdle. News reports on Wednesday claimed that the Yami Gautam starrer is not facing any such presumed ‘ban’, but is awaiting certification in certain regions in the Gulf countries”.

Furthermore, media reports from Hindustan Times, India TV and Indian Express also mentioned similar facts in the context of the above viral news.
