A video showing a woman serving food to customers with robotic-like movements has taken the Internet by storm. Users on social media platforms are fiercely sharing this video and claiming that it’s a video of a Chinese restaurant’s robot waitresses.
An Account by the name of No Context Humans shared this video on X(Twitter) and wrote: ” Chinese restaurant’s robot waitresses. This is scary”.

Fact-Check
To determine the reality of the above viral video, the DFRAC team converted this video into some keyframes and reverse-searched it on Google. Meanwhile, we discovered a similar video on the South China Morning Post website, showing the same woman performing similar moves. The video’s description reads: “A street dancer lover showcases her robot-dancing skills when serving customers in her hotpot restaurant in Chongqing city”.
Upon investigating further, we also found a media report published by Business Insider India on Nov 22, 2023, which mentioned:” The outlet said the woman is the owner of the hotpot restaurant and a professional dancer. She “dances” while pouring drinks and serving food in the video first posted by a friend”.
Conclusion
It is clear from DFRAC’s Fact-Check that the woman seen in the viral video is not a robot but a street dancer lover indeed. Hence, the claim of social media users is false.
