The Ram Temple in Ayodhya is scheduled to be inaugurated on January 22, 2024. Leading up to the event, there are reports of a procession consisting of 500 individuals from Janakpur, Nepal. In connection with this, a video is circulating widely on social media depicting devotees flocking to Ayodhya from Nepal.
What is the claim?
A video is shared where users are claiming that it is from the rally of Hindu devotees arriving from Nepal to Ayodhya for Ram Mandir Pran Pratishta ceremony. Below you can find the screenshots of the users who shared the video with the claim.
Fact Check:
We investigated the viral video by putting keyframes from the video into google reverse image search. In the process, we found that the video is not from Ayodhya but from Greater Noida, UP.
According to a tweet by Surajit Dasgupta , the founder of Swadharma News, posted in July 2023, he wrote “75,000 women participated in a march through the streets of Greater Noida in response to Pt Dheerendra Shastri’s call for a Bhagawat Katha session. This incident reflects the essence of the real India, a spirit that no invader could ever undo.”
The same video was found uploaded on Youtube with the caption , “Greater Noida kalash yatra #dheerendrashastri ji#greaternoida #jaishreeram#bageshwardhamsarkar”
Similar image was found in an article by ETV Bharat , which also reported these visuals show a Kalash Yatra held in Greater Noida before the Bhagwat Katha conducted by Acharya Dhirendra Shastri in July, 2023.
Conclusion
Thus, from the fact check it is evident, that the viral video is falsely shared as it is of Greater Noida Kalsh Yatra of July 2023. It is not of Nepal Devotees coming to Ayodhya for Ram Mandir Pran Pratishta ceremony.
