A Twitter user named Ansar Alam wrote that it was very shameful and that we strongly condemn it. Another user by the username of @sayeed_uddin wrote that it was not appropriate to show such disrespect to the country’s Prime Minister.
Fact Check:
When we captured snapshots from the video, we found out that the viral video is actually from a Quad Summit held in Tokyo, Japan, in May 2022. The summit was attended by PM Modi, President Biden, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida.
In the video, it is clear that Biden is talking with Modi and all four leaders are engaged in a conversation.
Conclusion:
DFRAC concludes that the viral video is incorrect and that Biden did not ignore PM Modi during his 2023 US visit. Therefore, the viral video claiming that President Biden did not welcome Prime Minister Modi during his US visit is misleading and taken out of context.
