Hmid Al Ali or Hamid bin Abdallah al-Ali who is an influential Salafi cleric based in Kuwait and “an Al Qaeda facilitator and fundraiser.” shared a video in which some men can be seen thrashing a women vigorously.
Sharing the video he aimed at Hindus and writes a caption in arabic which when translated in English means, “India: Extremist Hindus force an elderly Muslim woman to say the word blasphemy and laugh at her, as part of a wave of persecution of Indian Muslims that is taking place with the support of the Modi government.”

To investigate the viral video DFRAC team converted the video into different frames and reverse searched it. We found some reports related to this incident.
According to the report of India Today , a mentally-challenged woman was thrashed by two men in Rajasthan’s Nagaur district. This incident took place on June 13, 2017.
The report further states, “ The two men, identified as Prakash Meghwal and Shrawan Meghwal, possibly sibglings, have been arrested by the Rajasthan Police.
The woman, wearing a salwar-kameez, was forced to say ‘Allah’, ‘Jai Shri Ram’, and ‘Jai Hanuman’.”
According to the media report of ‘The Times of India’ the video of two men kicking and thrashing a mentally-challenged woman with a rubber pipe as she screams in pain and cries for help in Nagaur district of Rajasthan surfaced on social media.
Conclusion:
With the Reports of different media houses, it is clear that the video is not of recent times, but from the year 2017 i.e. 6 years old video, also in none of the reports the women was mentioned as a ‘Muslim’, but referred to as ‘mentally challenged’. Hence, the claim made by Hamid Al Ali is Misleading.
