A video is getting viral on social media where the CM and Deputy CM of Karnataka can be seen wearing Muslim religious dress and cap enjoying a feast.
Social media users are sharing the video with the claim that this is after the congress won the elections in Karnataka.
An account by the name of ‘MeghUpdates’ shared the video and writes, “Are they CM and Deputy CM of Karnataka ?”
While another user by the name of Neeraj Roy writes, “The CM and Deputy CM of Karnataka are celebrating, by wearing new uniforms …you cannot recognize them …god save Karnataka.”
Many other users too shared the video claiming the same.
Fact Check:
To verify the authenticity of the viral video DFRAC team ran a keyword search and found a page on Facebook by the name of ‘Banglore Akhbaar.’
This page uploaded the same video last year i.e.the year 2022 with the caption, “DAWAT E IFTAR by Former CM Siddaramaiah for peace and prosperity. Zameer Ahmed Khan and team attends. #Siddaramaiah #ZameerAhmedKhan.”
Further search then landed us to another Facebook page which too uploaded this video in the year 2022.
Conclusion:
It is clear from the fact check of DFRAC that the video of iftar party is not of recent times but 1 year old and is misleadingly being shared by the social media users.
