CBI denies the claim of Manish Sisodia that, “Look Out Circular is issued against him.” – Read the Fact Check

DFRAC Editor August 22, 2022
Manish Sisodia

The Deputy Chief Minister of the Delhi government, Manish Sisodia is being investigated by the CBI in connection with the excise Policy case. He has become one of the most discussed topics these days.  An FIR against him was registered by CBI and his residence was also raided. Now, a piece of news that is becoming viral is that the CBI has issued a lookout circular against him.

Sisodia expressed his distress over a tweet on 21st August. He wrote, “All your raids are failed, nothing was found, not a single foul rupee was found, now you have issued a lookout notice that Manish Sisodia is not available. What is this gimmick, Modi Ji? I am roaming freely in Delhi, tell me where to come? You cannot find me?”

— Manish Sisodia (@msisodia) August 21, 2022

The news was first posted by BJP MLA Tajinder Pal Singh Bagga, yesterday at 8:31 a.m

Further, many media houses including ANI, New18, India Today, and Economics Times have covered this news.

Fact Check

A Look Out Circular is issued by authorities to check up on a traveling person who is wanted. It is to prevent an accused person to cross borders without permission and also to catch absconding criminals.

According to reports, CBI has issued LOC to nine people in which the name of Sisodia is not included. As per CBI officials, LOC was issued against all private persons. except for Manoj Rai, ex-vice president of Pernod Ricard.

Later, ANI also clarified that “UPDATE | CBI Sources now clarify, say, Look Out Circular against Manish Sisodia and others, accused in the Delhi excise policy case “likely to be issued soon, in the process.”
