A picture of RashtriyaSwayamsevakSangh (RSS) workers is going viral on social media. In which some youth are standing in RSS costume and a woman can be seen passing. It was claimed that this woman is the Queen of Britain.
Sharing this picture, a Facebook user wrote, “Britain Mata Ki Jai. This photo is hard to capture and should reach every phone. Let everyone know who is the traitor to the country. When the whole country was fighting with the British, some traitors were saluting the Queen of England. I have heard that their descendants call themselves patriots.(Translates Hindi)
Fact Check
To check the viral claim, we did a reverse search image of the image. We found this picture on the website of Deccan Chronicle and Jagran. Which was published on 26 February 2015.
Apart from this, when we did a Google reverse image search on the part of the Queen of Britain. So we got a report from CNN. In which the image credits for the picture are given to Getty Images.
After doing some keyword searches, we found this picture on the website of Getty Images. Where the photograph is reported, Queen Elizabeth II inspects men of the newly-named Queen’s Own Nigeria Regiment, Royal West African Frontier Force, at Kaduna Airport, Nigeria, during her Commonwealth tour on 2 February 1956.
So it is clear that the viral picture is edited. Also, the claim made with the picture is fake.
