00Violence broke out in multiple states during Ram Navami and Hanuman Jayanti celebrations, photos and videos of stone-pelting have been shared widely on social media.

Meanwhile, many videos and photos are shared on social media where people are pelting stones and provoking communal riots.

People are claiming that a group of Muslims was pelting stones at a train after its horn interrupted their prayers.

Many people shared the video of stone-pelting under various captions.

“They were having trouble offering Namaz due to the sound of the train so throwing stones.”

The same video was shared on Facebook too.

Fact Check:

We at DFRAC reverse searched the video to know the truth behind stone pelting by a group of Muslim people.

We found the same video covered under many news sites like India Today, ETV Bharat under the caption, “a group of Muslims were pelting stones at a train after its horn interrupted their prayers.”

And, “Chennai students pelt stones at train amid scuffle as passengers panic.”

The viral video of the stone-pelting shows a clash between two groups of college students that took place in Chennai a few days back.

Conclusion:

The viral video is not of any communal riots, but was a clash between two groups of collage students.
