A video is going viral on social media platforms where people are climbing a high cliff via a ladder made of wood. In the video, some people can also be seen carrying babies on their backs. Social media users are sharing this video with the claim that this is a small village in Arunachal Pradesh.
Sharing the video a social media user wrote, “We keep complaining about bus and train facilities at our place. This is a small village in Arunachal. See also the daily challenge of life here…”
Similarly, many other users have shared this video with similar claims.
Fact Check
On reverse image search of different keyframes of the video, the DFRAC team found the same video on the Twitter handle named @stanleynordic. The video was uploaded on April 2020, with ta Chinese caption that can be translated into English as, “This video from Daliang Mountain was shared by an Italian. The foreigner asked me if it was true. After watching it, I said it was true. The foreigner asked why China donated so much money to foreign countries, and I could not answer.”
Then we searched for the Daliang Mountains. It is in the southern part of the province of Sichuan in China. We found similar videos of people climbing high cliffs from the Sichuan province of China.
Conclusion
Therefore, from this fact check of DFRAC, it is clear the video is not of Arunachal Pradesh but of China. Hence, the viral claim is misleading.
