Fact Check
The DFRAC team searched some keywords on Google to investigate the viral claim. We did not find any report published by any credible media organization. However, we found a report from India Today. It stated that Iran has allowed the evacuation of Indian citizens from the land border.
The report states that in response to India’s request, Iran’s government has said that it has closed its airspace. But students can use its land border to go to Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, and Afghanistan. India is currently considering a campaign to evacuate its citizens from Iran.
At the same time, a report by cnbctv18.com states that after the Indian Embassy asked Indians to leave war-torn Tehran on June 1. Indians across Iran are seeking help in every possible way, including messaging app Telegram, to find a way out.
Conclusion
DFRAC’s fact check clearly shows that the claim made on social media is fake. The Iranian government has not ordered Indian citizens to leave the country in 48 hours. Media reports inform that Iran has allowed Indians to use its land border to evacuate from there.
