A verified account named South Asian Perspective shared this news on social site X, writing – Big Breaking Pakistan has shot down an Indian Drishti-10 MALE surveillance drone along the Line of Control (LoC) in Kashmir.
Fact Check
To verify the viral claim, DFRAC searched some keywords related to the viral news on Google. Our team did not find any news report regarding Pakistan shooting down India’s Drishti-10 MALE surveillance drone. However, a news report from January 14, 2025 states about a crash of a Drishti-10 MALE surveillance drone. This crash has nothing to do with Pakistan or any attack on the drone. This crash happened off Porbandar before delivery from Adani Defence and Aerospace to the Indian Navy.

Apart from this, our team also checked press releases from the Indian Ministry of External Affairs and the Ministry of Defence. However, no press release was published regarding this matter.


What is the Drishti-10 MALE UAV?
Manufacturer & Role: The Drishti-10 is developed by IdeaForge Technologies specifically for the Indian Army. It is a fixed-wing, medium-altitude, long-endurance reconnaissance UAV capable of day/night surveillance.
Operational Use: It carries electro-optical/infrared sensors, providing real-time intelligence to battlefield commanders. It is significantly larger than tactical quadcopters.

Therefore, the fact check by DFRAC clearly shows that the claims of Pakistan shooting down an Indian Drishti-10 MALE surveillance drone at the LoC is fake.
There is no recent news by any reputed news organization that states Pakistan shooting down India’s Drishti-10 MALE surveillance drone at the LoC. However, in January 2025 a Drishti-10 MALE drone crashed, ahead of its delivery to the Indian Navy, at Porbandar.
