Fact-check: Did America arrest an Indian national on espionage charges? Here's the Truth
Some Pak-based handles took to Social media platform X(formerly Twitter) and claimed that America has arrested an Indian national on espionage charges as the individual was providing confidential information regarding the USAF jets to Russia.
An account with the name AM Raad shared images of PM Modi and President-elect Trump and some Jet planes on X and wrote: “America has arrested an Indian national on espionage charges. But it was not a RAW operative! Sources claim that the individual was providing confidential information regarding the USAF jets to Russia”
Fact-Check
The DFRAC team investigated the viral claim by searching some keywords related to it. Surprisingly, there were no reports and updates available online backing this claim.
For further investigation, we examined the X handles of the MEA spokesperson to India Randhir Jaiswal and the USA spokesperson to India Eric Garcetti, but no tweet or update was found on these handles as well.
