Fact Check
During the investigation, DFRAC found that the video was from Russia. We found a similar video on Telegram channel of ‘Operation Z: War Correspondents of the Russian Spring’ uploaded on 3 Oct 2024 stating “Our special forces paratroopers carried out a series of daring operations cleanup islands on the Dnieper River in the Kherson region, defeating and having captured divisions Armed Forces of Ukraine. The video shows the result of one from series of operations”.
Moreover, we found a media report from ‘Zmaps.ru’ published on 2 Oct 2024 stating “Special forces of the Airborne Forces captured a whole crowd of militants of the APU, crawling the islands behind the Krynki and Cossack Camps Our special forces-landingers”.
Furthermore, we also found a tweet from ‘Ukraine/Russia News’ tweeted on 3 Oct 2024 mentioning similar facts regarding the above viral video.
Conclusion
It is evident from the DFRAC’s fact check that the viral video is of Russian forces capturing Ukrainian forces. It is not related to Israel Hezbollah conflict. Therefore, the claim of social media users is misleading.
