Fact-Check

To investigate the above shared claim, the DFRAC team conducted a keyword search on google in this regard. We found that no latest reports have been published by any media outlet in support of the above claim. However, we found some reports from IndiaToday & Wion published in July 2024 revealing that five houses belonging to the Kashmiri Pandit Community in Kashmir’s Anantnag district were completely gutted in a fire incident.

The fire broke during the night hours destroying the old houses of the Kashmiri Pandit community. Jammu and Kashmir Police have registered a case and started investigating the cause of the fire.

Conclusion

It is evident from DFRAC’s fact-check that the above claim stating that destruction of civilian property by the armed forces has become normalized & over 1,119 civilian structures have been burned down in #jammuKashmir is fake since no media outlet published any recent reports in this regard.

Analysis: Fake
