It was thanks to God that all the children were saved”
Fact Check
On investigation, DFRAC found a tweet from the Official X handle of the Gopalganj Police stating “Today on 21.08.24, a school bus passed over the burning tyres during the protest near Arar turn under Nagar police station. On the magistrate’s statement, an FIR has been lodged on the charges of burning tyres on the road, blocking the road, and obstructing the people’s way and further action is being taken”.
Furthermore, we also found many media reports regarding this incident. According to ABP News “Bharat Bandh: Protesters surrounded a school bus full of children in Gopalganj, it narrowly escaped from catching fire”.
Moreover, Aaj Tak also Published this report mentioning “There was a lot of violence in Gopalganj, Bihar due to Bharat Bandh. People blocked the roads in many places. In many places, the protesters also set fire by burning tyres. A school bus full of children got stuck in one such fire and narrowly escaped a major accident”.
