A verified account with the username @SonOfBharat7 posted two images on X and wrote: “Bangladeshi cricketer Liton Das’ house was set on fire by Islamic terrorists. This man used to increase the honor and respect of Bangladesh by shedding his sweat for Bangladesh But his fault was that he was a “Hindu” (Translated from Hindi)
Additionally, several users shared these images and made similar claims.

To investigate the viral news, the DFRAC team conducted a keyword search on google in this regard. We found that not Liton Das’s house but the house of former Bangladesh cricket captain Mashrafe Bin Mortaza was set on fire by protestors amid the violence and chaos in the country.
Multiple media outlets such as NDTV, Hindustan Times, first post, & The Times of India reported this news. As per reports, the country’s former cricket captain Mashrafe Bin Mortaza’s house was set ablaze.
