After the Reasi Bus terror attack, a pak-based handle on X claimed that the Indian Army is moving in Jammu & Kashmir, Bandipora area to commit genocide of the local population.
Taking to X, the handle wrote: “Indian army is moving in Indian occupied Jammu & Kashmir, Bandipora area to commit genocide of the local population. They plan to target young boys from local population to inflict fear in the population”
Fact-Check
To verify the reality of the above claim, the DFRAC team did keyword search on Google. We found that no such reports or updates are available online regarding the above claim. On the contrary, we found that news of the Indian Army search operation after the Reasi Bus terror attack has been in the headlines lately.
Media outlets such as Hindustan Times, Abp live and The Economic Times also reported this news.
According to a report by Hindustan Times dated June 10, 2024, the Indian Army conducted a massive search operation after 10 people were killed after a bus carrying pilgrims came under fire by terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Reasi. The bus was coming from Shiv Khori temple and was ambushed by the terrorists.
Apart from this, reports from The Economic Times and Abplive stated similar facts regarding the news of launching massive search operation by Indian Army to trace out the Terrorists behind the Reasi bus terror attack.
Conclusion
It is clear from DFRAC’s fact-check that the claim stating that Indian Army is moving in J & K, to commit genocide of the local population has been misleadingly shared on X. In reality, the Indian Army has conducted a massive operation to flush out the terrorists involved in the Reasi bus tragedy.
