An Xuser, ShaykhSulaiman, recently shared a video claiming it to be of Jordanians protesting on the streets of Gaza with the caption, “BREAKING: JORDANIANS ARE ON THE STREETS OF GAZA PROTESTING AGAINST THE GAZA GENOCIDE.”

To determine the authenticity of this claim, DFRAC team investigated it via reverse image search after screenshotting a snippet of the video. In the process, we discovered that the protest did not occur in Gaza but instead took place in Amman, Jordan, near the Israeli embassy. Reports from Israel National News confirmed that the hundreds of Jordanian demonstrators were marching on the Israeli embassy in Amman in protest over Israel’s operation in Gaza. Therefore, it is confirmed by DFRAC’s fact check that the viral video showing protests in Gaza is misleading as it occurred in Amman near the Israeli embassy.
