News is going viral on social media platforms claiming that the Indian army has once again carried out a surgical strike in Pakistan occupied Kashmir. The army crossed the Line of Control in the districts of Rajouri and Poonch and completely destroyed the four launching pads of terrorists. Seven to eight terrorists are reported to have been killed in this major action.
A user named Dr. MJ Augustine Vinod shared a picture on Twitter and wrote: “Another surgical strike on Pakistan’s BAT (Border Action Team) by Para SF Super job”.
Furthermore, Newspaper website Dainik Jagran published a news article on 22 August 2023 with the headline: “India again carried out surgical strike on Pakistan, 12 to 15 commandos carried out the mission; Seven to eight terrorists killed”.
In this news article, Jagran stated: “The Indian Army has taken major action across the border. This time our brave men crossed the Line of Control from the middle of Rajouri and Poonch districts and completely destroyed four launching pads of terrorists operating in Nakyal of Kotli in slave Jammu and Kashmir”.

Image of front page was shared by one of the users named Shubham diwedi on Twitter along with the caption: “India carried out a surgical strike yesterday, 8 terrorists killed. News Website IndiaTV published this news along with the headline: “Government refutes claims of surgical strike, says infiltration bid foiled in Rajouri”.
According to the news by IndiaTV “The Ministry of Defence on Tuesday refuted the claims of a surgical strike by the Indian Army, hours after a newspaper daily published a report.An Army official in a statement said, “A news has been published with respect to Surgical Strike.
