News is going viral on social media stating that The Resistance Front (TRF), carried out a grenade attack on the Indian Forces at Ganderbal district in Jammu and Kashmir. This news has emerged amid tight security for the ongoing Amarnath Yatra in Jammu and Kashmir.
About The Resistance Front (TRF)?
According to a document from the Ministry Of Home Affairs, The Resistance Front is a proxy outfit of the terrorist organization Lashkar-E-Taiba and came into existence in 2019. It has been involved in the planning of killings of security force personnel and innocent civilians of Jammu and Kashmir, co-ordinating and transporting weapons to support proscribed terrorist organizations, recruitment of terrorists, infiltration of terrorists, and smuggling of weapons and narcotics from across the border.

Ahmed Khalid, spokesman of The Resistance Front (TRF) posted a picture on Twitter with the text: ” The cadre of Eagle Squad #TRF carried out a grenade attack on 5RR Duderhama mercenary Army camp in Ganderbal. The grenade exploded inside the camp area. This attack is important considering the so-called tight security for #Amarnathyatra. It is a message to Occupier regime the Resistance will not stop and will continue no matter what. The silence is not the retreat but prediction for something big… Wait..” and wrote: “Our fighters targeted Hindutva forces camp with a grenade in Ganderbal district, Details Soon”.
An account by the name of Resistance OSINT quote tweeted the tweet by Ahmed Khalid and wrote: “#Kashmir The Resistance Front TRF’ spokesperson stated that organization carried out a grenade attack on the Indian Forces in Ganderbal district”.

Meanwhile, the team discovered the tweets done by Ganderbal police on Twitter refuting the claims of the above viral news. In a first tweet, Ganderbal Police cited: ” #FakeNews A rumour is being circulated by banned terrorist outfit on social media claiming grenade attack on security forces camp at Duderhama, Ganderbal. No such incident happened in Ganderbal “.
While, in the second tweet, Ganderbal Police wrote: “Police and security forces are alert and vigilant. Public is requested not to believe, forward or share any such rumours”.
