A picture of Sydney’s Opera House emitting the Tiranga lights is shared by BL Santosh who is a general secretary of BJP on social media claiming that Sydney is welcoming Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
He tweets, “Sydney welcomes PM Sri @narendramodi & recognizes the talent & resolve of #NewIndia.”

Vivek Agnihotri, who is an Indian film director and producer also shared this picture with the same claim.

Fact Check:
To investigate the viral team DFRAC team did a reverse image search and found a ten minutes video on a YouTube channel by the name of ‘Consulate General Of India Sydney’ with the caption, “Majestic Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav Celebrations in Sydney.”
The video was uploaded 8 months ago and is having more than 900 views.
Further, the team also found this picture on a verified Facebook page by the name of ‘Australia In India’ which was uploaded on 22 August 2022.
While,
scrolling through this same page we found that Sydney was lit up in Tiranga, in the celebration of PM Narendra modi’s visit, but it differs from the picture posted by social media users like BL Santosh and Vivek Agnihotri.
Conclusion:
The picture shared by BL Santosh and Vivek Agnihotri is Misleading as the picture is 8 months old during the celebration of ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’
