A video is getting viral on social media. In this video, a girl can be seen singing Lata Mangeshkar’s song ‘Piya Tose Naina Lage’ in a melodious voice. The girl is telling in this video that she was not selected. Social media users are claiming that even after having such a melodious voice, the girl has not been selected for Indian Idol.
By sharing this video a user named Satyam Sahu captioned- “ This girl has failed in Indian Idol. Because of this girl’s singing, some of the so-called singers of Bollywood can get discharged. This girl must get justice. Make it so viral that this girl gets justice.” ( English Translation )

To fact-check the viral video, the DFRAC team converted the video into a few frames, followed by a reverse search. We found several media reports regarding this video. According to the news published by Dainik Bhaskar in August 2022- Supriya, a resident of Samastipur in Bihar, went to audition for Indian Idol. Where the judges disqualified her, after which she cried as soon as she left the audition room.
